Domer

domer.jpgBrooklyn-based producer/MC Domer (aka Adam Nelson) is taking the road less travelled. Refusing to commit to genre lines and taking a uniquely open-source approach to music making, his sing-along ennui bangers are equal parts Her Space Holiday, Atmosphere and Beck. Delivering a cheerfully sarcastic blend of underground hip-hop lyricism and soulful indie-pop growls set to uptempo electro-hop dance beats, Domer hovers somewhere between the Postal Service and Aesop Rock. Forward thinking but still accessible, catchy but still edgy, emotional and also smart, Domer is weaving all of your favorite styles together with a smile.

After a lifetime of playing in bands of every style, Domer fell in love with electronic production in college. His quest for a new, fresh sound led him to a unique production style that landed beats on nationally airing TV commercials and mega-websites including Sony-Ericcson.com and NikeBasketball.com (alongside Jus Blaze and the RZA). After relocating to Brooklyn in 2003, Domer found a home in the underground hip-hop scene and began releasing solo albums as well as collaborations with the avant hip-hop crew MINDSpray and the broke MC (as brokeNdomer). Relentless performing and touring taught Domer to capture any audience and entertain every crowd, whether rapping alongside hip-hop giants KRS-ONE, Grandmaster Kaz, Mel E Mel, Poison Pen, Breez Evahflowin, and the Metermaids (among others) or making Williamsburg hipsters shake their booties with Daedelus, Infidels, Langhorne Slim and others.

domer2.jpgThe April ‘07 release of “Work With Me” on Welsh indie label Skipping Beats won rave reviews from sources like Hip-Hop Connection, FreeIndie.com, 5acts.com, HipHopLinguistics.com, and many more. The first video from his upcoming album “Vaguest Vacation” (due April 8, 2008) for the single “You’re On To Me” is already on the web and gaining hits rapidly while Domer prepares to grow from a DJ/MC combo to a full live band and to embark on his third national tour in March/April ‘08.

As if all this wasn’t enough, Domer also created a unique open-source interactive music project called My Favorite EP. The vocal tracks 5 new, exclusive a capella songs were made available for free download and over 20 producers around the world each created their own version of all five songs. Starting February ‘08, fans and online music sites will be invited to each choose their favorite version of each song and create a personalized favorite EP… you have to see it for yourself at ReverbNation.com/MyFavoriteEP.
